“A young Nicolas Cage” with “Jeff Goldblum-vibes” is something Danny gets all the time. He studied and performed improv comedy at the Annoyance Theatre in Brooklyn (improv god Mick Napier simply told him, “you’re funny”) and he took countless workshops at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective. Michael Beckett’s scene study classes at HB Studio put him through some high-brow Uta Hagen techniques in New York City, and Gary Grubbs taught him how to have fun again on the Gulf Coast.Notable live productions are Who’s the DJ?—his one-man show, Cuttin’ Up!—a DJed improv show & jam, and Big Easy Breakup—a tragic comedy / Mardi Gras parade for the stage (co-written with his ex). Danny was a leg double for Machine Gun Kelly’s flaming gams in Netflix’s Project Power and a look-alike for Ivan Boesky in NBC’s Empires of New York. The short film Above the Influence premiered on NoBudge in early 2021.
